Nourishing and Maintaining a Leather Sofa Bed

One of the classiest furniture that you could ever own is a leather sofa bed; however, if you want it to retain its elegance, you will need to take proper care of it. A leather sofa bed can become damaged due to dirt, drips and spills, natural wearing or other factors that are beyond your control.

One of the most recommended ways of cleaning a leather sofa bed is through the use of regular moisturizing soap lathered on a smooth cloth that is used to wash the leather sofa bed in order to remove the spills, drips and dirt. When cleaning a leather sofa bed, you should be careful to not over wet your bed as this can be damaging to the sofa bed. In order to keep a leather sofa bed conditioned, you should keep it moisturized regularly.

Regular moisturizing, nourishing, and maintaining of a leather sofa bed is very important and will result in your sofa bed lasting longer. One way of nourishing your sofa bed is by mixing linseed oil with white vinegar. Using a smooth cloth, this mixture should be applied in a circular motion on your sofa bed. After making sure that the surface is covered completely, you should leave the mixture on the sofa bed for ten to fifteen minutes after which you should polish the sofa with a smooth cloth. This will result in a shiny finish.

When cleaning a leather sofa bed, you should make sure that you do not use water to clean butter or grease stains. This will result in the stain becoming worse. Oil stains can become quite visible. If oil or any greasy substance falls on a leather sofa bed, you should use a paper towel or cloth to clean it out by blotting the spilled area. In some cases, you might even have to use leather cleaner to remove the stain.

Sometimes ink can cause stains on your leather bed. Normally when your leather bed is new, these stains will not be visible but as the color of the bed starts to fade due to natural wearing, the ink stains become more noticeable. Rubbing alcohol can be used to get rid of ink stain from a leather sofa bed.
